2 States (2014)

2 States     Family Drama 8/10

So I have this coworker friend who I introduced Bollywood to, around the time I watched Bang Bang!  Now she is watching them more often than me, and so recommends them to me all the time.  She bought Diwale, so we could watch it together, and now has me watching 2 States.  She even read the book first, so basically she is amazing.  This film is pretty good too.  It's that real, awkward, wedding and family drama, especially poignant to India, but everyone can relate to it.  It's about how marriage is not just about two people in love, but about the uniting of two families and two cultures.

Dilwale (2015)

Diwale     Romance Action Comedy 7/10

This was maybe not the most cohesively put together film, but it made up for it in the special effects and definitely in the music and visuals.  There was a lot going on with this film story-wise, but since it was an action film it was on the shorter side, leaving only the bare minimum for story telling.  So this is not about the couples falling in love, its about what happened after, and history repeating itself, and then fates crossing again.
