Pardes (1997)

Drama 4/10

I love my India.  Let's sing that song a million and one times.  I love my India.  Let's brainwash us all by singing this 10 minute song at least 5 times in the movie!  Haha, well, this was made to celebrate the independence day or whatever it's called there and it is ridiculous.  It is clearly meant to promote patriotism and all that, but they do it by demonizing America a bit, which is sad.  It is interesting though, because it is like the opposite of DDLJ, as it is the Indian girl goes to America instead of the London girl goes to India, and the jerk fiance is American instead of Indian.  Shahrukh still gets beat up again before the same dad decides that he is the right one for the girl.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011)

Romantic Comedy: 7/10

So after figuring out that Katrina Kaif wasn't that bad (I hated her in Jab Tak Hai Jaan) and wanting to give Imran Khan another chance she I knew he had to be better than I Hate Love Stories, I finally decided to watch Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.  It was exactly what a needed.  A good, actually funny romantic comedy.  I mean, it had good relationship development and angsty love triangle without it being dumb, awkward, or bad, and that is hard to find.

Bang Bang! (2014)

Action Comedy: 8/10

This is Knight and Day, Bollywood style.  I liked it better than Knight and Day (which I liked okay) but maybe that is because Hrithik Roshan is a million times sexier than Tom Cruise.  Just saying.  I also liked the adaptations that made it more pertinent to a Bollywood, such as the Hope Diamond being stolen and the importance of family, etc.  I mean there was a little of that in the original, but not as much as this one.  Not Bollywood cry style anyway.
