Ghajini (2008)

So, so, so, so, so good.  I watched this with my little sister, who isn't into psychological thrillers and intense actions films, and even she liked it.  She liked the happy parts way more than the intense parts, but she couldn't help but keep watching.  Aamir Khan is that amazing.

It's based off of Memento, that Nolan film with the short term memory loss dude getting revenge, and it is so well done.  I think it was my first real action Bollywood (if you don't count RA.One which is Sci-Fi Action) and it was impressive.

Aamir Khan plays the man with the memory loss, and like Memento, uses Polaroid photos, note4s and tattoos to remember the things he need to in order to find Ghajini, the name attached to the man who murdered his girlfriend.  It starts in the present and then uses people reading his journals and researching him in order to tell the past and let us know what happened.  Whether it be the medical student who is interested in his case, or the policeman trying to track down the man who keeps murdering thugs.

It is so well acted and made, both script and cinematography, and it just leaves you with a bittersweet feeling at the end.  So even coming from someone who doesn't like psychological thrillers (my little sister) it was an awesome movie, and coming from someone who loves them (me) it was a totally awesome movie.  Plus Aamir Khan looks so good in this one, as he had to totally beef up in order to play the revenge seeking dude, covered in tattoos.  The only part I couldn't watch was the part when the bad guy had his memory tattoos tattooed over.  Gross.

Well, anyways, it was super cool and well done, and I loved this movie.  Another great Aamir Khan movie.  Man does he know how to wear short sleeves... his arms look sooooo good in this movie!  Ahem.  This movie is really good without him also being really hot in this movie.  Which he is.
