Aisha (2010)
This is basically the Bollywood version of Emma, the Jane Austin classic. Ever seen Clueless? Same type deal. A modern retelling of Emma, where a rich popular girl loves matchmaking and upgrading her less fortunate friends.
As an Emma story, it's pretty good. As a Bollywood, it's lame. The actors are good, but it just was missing that Bollywood charm. Maybe because it wasn't a musical. I can't even remember what the actors looked like really. I do remember the Knightly character was attractive, but that's all I remember. It was a good film, but really just not anything super.
I don't even remember any of the background soundtrack. There was literally no songs that came my attention, rather just the lack of it. It was more artsy with a very straight forward retelling, nothing fancy. So if you are an Austin fan and want to see every random version of Emma, you might as well watch this one, cause it's a decent film. A better adaptation than Bride and Prejudice was of P&P.
