Another Saif Ali Khan family film. It's like he's either in the sketchy boundary pushing ones, or he is playing a cute dad type. Either a dorky, lovable, ladies man type guy (Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho), or he's a bad-a dude. Well, that shows how versatile he is.
This family film also stars Rani Mukerji, and once again they have great chemistry. Well, considering this came out the year before Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, it is no wonder. Saif and Rani play really good parents in this one, both cute and realistic. You get to see them fall in love as well as being parents and struggling with life after the crap happens.
Ta Ra Rum Pum is about a race car driver who falls in love, has a family, then gets into an accident and loses everything. It's about living within your means, following your dreams, and being happy with what you have. It's also good with overcoming fears and working hard. It has some cheesy numbers, like the one where they are dancing with cartoon bears, but it was still good.
