Kismat Konnection (2008)

This one was just kinda meh.  I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.  It does have hot hot hot Shahid Kapoor.  It's very loosely based on Just My Luck... I guess.  There is the whole good luck/bad luck thing, but that's about the end of it.  I think my favorite part was Juhi Chawla's gypsy fortune teller.  She was funny.

It's not like this film is bad.  It's pretty good.  It was just a little bit boring.  So Raj (Shahid Kapoor) is really smart but has no luck so he goes to a fortune teller and she tells him he needs to find his good luck charm or something.  Then he meet Priya (Vidya Balan) and of course they hate each other at first.  But he realizes that she's his lucky charm, and they eventually become friends.  But then he lies to her to use her luck and that always leads to anger and hurt feelings because lying is bad.  Especially when it's something like saying you're going to help the girl with her community center when you're really going to build a shopping mall over it to prove how awesome an architect you are.

I think the reason I found it so boring was because of how formulaic and predictable it was.  That's the way that lying plots are.  If you start a relationship out based on lies, of course it's going to blow up in your face.  That's just to be expected.  Kids, don't lie.  It's bad.

Now that you know that it is so predicable, then you can just sit back and enjoy it, because it's a good movie, and Shahid is hot, and even though you know where it's going, you can just go with it and enjoy it.  It's maybe a 5.5 of 10 if you are looking for something profound or super well made, but is in reality a 7 of 10 if you just enjoy while you watch.  Oh plus I'm pretty sure that Shahrukh's sexy voice is the narrator so... yay.  I do remember loving the music, so there is another super good plus.  Shahid is a sexy dancer (winky face).

Favorite Song:
Is This Love?  or is it Bakhuda Tumhi Ho?  I dunno!  They're both so good!

Favorite Dance:
Soniye Ve
