Aamir Khan is back in my life with another film with a message. Taare Zameen Par is about a dyslexic boy (Darsheel Safary) who is having difficulty with school and is generally misunderstood by everyone, especially his parents who don't want the same of a "special needs" type situation.
Eventually the boy is sent to a boarding school where he makes friends and meets a teacher (Aamir Khan) with a very different teaching style, who recognizes his dyslexia and helps the boy open up and embrace his beautiful talent. The message of the show is that every child is special and has the potential for greatness if they are allowed to thrive on their own terms.
This is not only starring Aamir Khan, but like a lot of what Aamir does, it directed and produced by him as well. It is very beautifully done. It's not so mainstream classic style Bollywood, but it is VERY GOOD. It's sweet and sad and also happy and inspiring.
